Rushden & Diamonds assistant manager Michael Stone says they will not prepare for Saturday's Northamptonshire derby with Kettering differently. The Diamonds are fifth in Blue Square Premier, one point above the Poppies.
Stone told BBC Radio Northampton: "I was taken aback at the response from supporters last season, of what it means to the local area.
"But we won't approach it differently, and we won't get caught up in the atmosphere and change how we play."
Stone has praised the work of Kettering boss Lee Harper, who took over from Mark Cooper in November.
"Mark Cooper did fantastically well, and [Harper] wanted to take up the challenge," Stone said.
"They've certainly done better away from home than at home, so we'll be wary. I think he's done very well."
