Edinburgh slams abandoned game.
Rushden and Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh has expressed his anger at the decision to abandon their match at Grimsby on Tuesday due to fog.His side were leading 2-1 with Grimsby down to ten men when the referee called the game off due to poor visibility.
Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "There's no way the game should have been abandoned and we'll let the powers that be know of our disappointment.
"Everyone in the stadium knew that the fog was lifting and not descending."
The Diamonds are eighth in the Blue Square Bet Premier on 52 points, with Grimsby one point behind with a game in hand.
Edinburgh added: "I've heard people say they were concerned about the safety of the fans, but they were sitting in the stands and could clearly see from one side of the stadium to the other.
"Everyone can say 'it's only because you were winning', but it's more that that.
"It's the cost to the football club, the cost to the fans and the cost to our chances of making the play-offs, and Grimsby have lost nothing."
